Pharmaceutical Chemistry deals with knowledge of both synthetic and natural chemistry combined with computational chemistry in the discovery and development of new therapeutic agents. Generally, the subject of Pharmaceutical Chemistry imparts a deep knowledge on the design of newer chemical entities, their molecular modifications to target drugs to the specific site and isolation of a bioactive compound from various natural products and its structural elucidation and characterization, QSAR, molecular docking, combinatorial chemistry and microwave techniques. Pharmaceutical Chemistry department at Pannai College of Pharmacy focuses on handling and training on the use of analytical techniques such as UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Colorimeter, Digital Potentiometer, Moisture analyser, Deionizer, etc. to the undergraduate and diploma students. The department also has the branch of Pharmaceutical analysis, Quality control and Quality assurance. The laboratories under the department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry provide practical training to the students in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry by learned and well-renowned faculty members.
